What's included
Weed control from Great Yards is a two-part program: pre-emergent applications timed to Willamette Valley soil temperatures (typically late winter and again in late summer) to prevent weed seeds from germinating, plus targeted post-emergent spot-treatments through the season for anything that does break through. We can also do dedicated invasive-species work — herbicide-based knock-down on aggressive weeds when hand-pulling isn't practical.
How we work
Every property gets an assessment first: what weeds are already established, what turf type, whether beds and lawn need different programs. Applications are made per label — right rate, right conditions, no over-application. We flag treated areas per Oregon regulations and give you a heads-up 24 hours before any application in case pets or kids need to be inside.
Who it's for
Fits Salem homeowners who want a cleaner-looking lawn without spending Saturday mornings pulling dandelions, and commercial property managers who need consistent turf across HOA common areas, parking-lot islands, and building perimeters. Great pair with our weekly mowing service — one contractor, one accountability.
Why Great Yards
There's a reason DIY weed control is a mixed bag: the timing window is narrow, the product selection depends on turf type, and application rate matters. Nineteen years of doing this in the Willamette Valley means we know when the window opens for our region — and we're licensed and insured for commercial pesticide work.
