FAQ
Salem Landscape Maintenance FAQ
The most common questions Salem-area homeowners and property managers ask before signing on. If you don't see yours, reach out or call (503) 576-1528.
What areas do you serve around Salem, OR?
We serve residential and commercial clients across Salem, Keizer, West Salem, Turner, Aumsville, Stayton, Sublimity, Silverton, Mount Angel, Woodburn, Hubbard, Gervais, Brooks, Independence, Monmouth, Dallas, Rickreall, Jefferson, and the broader Marion and Polk County areas of the Willamette Valley.
How often should my Salem lawn be mowed?
Most Salem-area residential lawns need weekly service from mid-March through late October when the Willamette Valley's growth cycle is active, then bi-weekly through the cooler shoulder months. Commercial properties are usually on a fixed weekly schedule year-round. We tailor the frequency to your property, weather, and grass type at the free walk-through.
Do you handle commercial and multi-property contracts?
Yes — a big part of our business is commercial grounds maintenance for HOAs, townhome complexes, property managers, private schools, churches, and multi-property portfolios across the Willamette Valley. One contract, one point of contact, consistent crew across every site.
Are you insured and licensed?
Yes. Great Yards Landscape Maintenance is a registered Oregon LLC and carries full business insurance. We're happy to provide a certificate of insurance for commercial contracts on request.
Do you offer snow plowing in Salem?
Yes — commercial snow plowing, sidewalk shoveling, and ice-melt application for parking lots, walkways, and building entrances. We monitor forecasts around the clock during winter events and dispatch based on accumulation and building schedules. Residential snow work is available for existing full-service clients.
How does the free quote work?
Call the cell at (503) 576-1528 or send a note through the contact form. We come walk your property, listen to what you want, and send back a clear scope and quote within one business day. No high-pressure sales, no surprise line items.
What is the GYLM Pledge?
It's our 100% satisfaction guarantee. If we ever fall short of the standard we set, we come back and make it right — even if that means redoing the work at our cost. It's how we've kept clients for 19 years, and it's in writing on every quote.
Do you use chemicals for weed control?
Only where the client wants them and only per label. We're happy to run a pre-emergent and post-emergent program for lawns and beds, or to handle weeding manually where you prefer — many of our residential clients want no chemicals near ornamentals or edible beds, and we accommodate that.
Can you do one-time cleanup work?
Yes. Spring cleanups, fall cleanups, blackberry or ivy removal, pressure washing, and one-time bark dust installs are all available as standalone jobs — no ongoing contract required.
What payment methods do you accept?
Check, ACH transfer, and major cards. Commercial contracts are typically invoiced monthly. Residential clients can pay per visit or on a monthly cycle — whatever works better for you.
