What's included
Bed weeding and raking is hands-on, methodical work: pulling weeds from the root, raking bark dust and leaf litter smooth, cleaning bed edges of grass creep, and cutting back overhang. We work bed by bed, top to bottom, and you get back a landscape that reads cared-for from the sidewalk. This is offered as a rotation (monthly, bi-monthly, or seasonal) or as a one-time restoration job.
How we work
First visit is typically the longest — restoring a bed that's been let go can take significant hands-on time. After that, rotation visits are fast because we're only pulling what came in since the last visit. We haul off all pulled weeds and debris. If you'd rather run a chemical program on top of the manual work, we can add pre-emergent applications timed to the Willamette Valley season.
Who it's for
This service is popular with Salem homeowners who don't want chemicals in beds near vegetable gardens, kids, or pets — and with HOA and townhome clients whose common-area beds need consistent visual upkeep. It's also a good fit for property managers who want one landscape contractor handling both mowing and bed care rather than juggling separate vendors.
Why Great Yards
You can spray a lawn to keep weeds down. You can't spray an ornamental bed without risking your plants. That's why hand-weeding is a real, recurring service — not an afterthought bundled into a mow-and-blow visit. We take it seriously, and the GYLM Pledge means we come back if we miss corners.
